The Animal
by Lucy Pagerey-Grey
In a dream
I saw myself
Clutching the tail
Of my own life –
I saw how far
The Animal extends:
The whole time
I walk here
Is the single bounce
Of a single bone
Stuck like a button
To the tail of
Some furious monstrous thing
I am hardly worthy to name.
In a dream
I saw myself
Clutching the tail
Of my own life –
I saw how far
The Animal extends:
The whole time
I walk here
Is the single bounce
Of a single bone
Stuck like a button
To the tail of
Some furious monstrous thing
I am hardly worthy to name.
